Diesen Sommer konnten wir eine ganz neue Destination entdecken, wir waren auf Curaçao und neben diversen Taugängen haben wir natürlich auch die Gelegenheit genutzt mit unserem Fotoapparat auf Erkundung zu gehen.

Curaçao liegt ca. 60km vor der Küste von Venezuela, gehört zu der Inselgruppe der (südlichen) kleinen Antillen im karibischen Meer und ist Teil des Königreiches der Niederlande. Dabei bietet sich vor allem Willemstad mit seinen vielen bunten Fachwerkshäusern, Gassen und seinem natürlichen Hafen für tolle Motive an. Die Stadt liegt am Südwestufer der Insel und die beiden Stadtteile Otrabanda und Punda werden seit 1886 durch die Königin-Emma-Brücke verbunden. Bereits 1997 setzte die UNESCO die Innenstadt von Willemstad auf die Liste der Weltkulturgüter. Während unserem Aufenthalt auf Curaçao wohnten wir zentrumsnah im Avila Beach Hotel, so dass wir fußläufig die Innenstadt erkunden konnten. This summer we were able to discover a completely new destination, we were on Curaçao and, in addition to various dives, we also took the opportunity to explore with our camera.

Curaçao is about 60km off the coast of Venezuela, belongs to the archipelago of the (southern) Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea and is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Willemstad in particular, with its many colorful half-timbered houses, alleys and its natural harbor, is ideal for great motifs. The city is located on the southwestern shore of the island and the two districts of Otrabanda and Punda have been connected by the Queen Emma Bridge since 1886. As early as 1997, UNESCO placed downtown Willemstad on the list of World Heritage Sites. During our stay on Curaçao we stayed in the Avila Beach Hotel, close to the center, so that we could explore the city center by foot.
